The Sulô Hotel, the torch of Philippine Hospitality, opened its doors on August 4,1967 in a place that could be fittingly called the center of nowhere. Although it has long been marked as the government center of the country, Diliman in Quezon City was largely undeveloped at that time. Only a couple as daring
as Modesto and Trinidad Diaz-Enriquez however decided to build a hotel in the area. The Sulô Hotel stands as a monument to the uncanny foresight of
the founders.
The Sulô Hotel was unfortunately gutted by a fire on October 7, 1979. After
a year of renovations,
it opened anew its doors to the hospitality and
tourism industry.
In May 2009, Sulo Hotel was acquired by a private company, the FRC Sulô Riviera Hotel Inc. and with its new ownership and management, the name was changed to The Sulô Riviera.
Located in the heart of Quezon City, it is also within the progressive government establishments such as the main Bureau of Internal Revenue Building; Social Security Main Office; Central Bank Security Complex; the departments of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Interior and Local Government; House of Representatives and the University of the Philippines
.
The Hotel has 70 guest rooms and suites with tastefully designed Philippine crafted furniture and decors. Among its amenities are: function rooms and food and beverage outlets. Within the next few months, we will be constantly updating the hotel interiors to meet the discriminating tastes of our guest

In terms of services and luxuries, The Sulô Riviera is and will be thoroughly modern. In design, however, it is uniquely Filipino. The hotel boasts of an architectural style influenced by exotic Malayan structures found in
Southern Mindanao.
